LA SEDE PRINCIPAL

Centro de Extensión UC is a space for culture, conveyance and integration of knowledge.

The venue is located within the main building of Universidad Católica de Chile, on the most important avenue of Santiago city, “Alameda Bernardo O’Higgins”, which provides direct access to the interconnected transportation network.

ABOUT THE MAIN VENUE - CENTRO DE EXTENSIÓN UC

The installations of this cultural centre consist on cinema, restaurants, bookstore, art galleries and also halls and auditoriums of different sizes, enclosures arranged around a large central square with double-height roof, covering two levels of structure.

Some of the features of this Centre are:

  • The Fresno Hall, with a capacity for 800 people.
  • The Plaza Central Hall, place for posters exhibition, sponsors showroom and coffee break.
  • Different-sized rooms and capacities to host parallel meetings.
  • All halls are air-conditioned and equipped with WiFi technology.

THE NEIGHBORHOOD

The venues are located close to the downtown of Santiago, in a neighborhood that is characterized by an attractive cultural offer, in a privileged sector of the city.

In just a few minutes of walking you can get to the:

  • Centro Cultural Gabriela Mistral
  • National Museom of Modern Arts
  • National Museum of Fine Arts
  • Patio Lastarrias
  • Patio Bellavista

SECONDARY VENUE - FAU, U. DE CHILE

Just five minutes away from the Main Venue is located the Facultad de Arquitectura y Urbanismo (Faculty of Architecture and Urbanism) of the Universidad de Chile, which will be part of the AIC2016 as the Secondary Venue. This venue gathers nineteenth-century heritage buildings in addition to the works of outstanding Chilean architects, and it is part of the same connected circuit.

  • The AIC Study Groups Meetings
